Availability Indicators Don't Look Right

Written By Daniel Sanders

Last updated 4 months ago

Availability indicators are based on your working hours and existing bookings.

If the indicators do not appear as expected, there are a few common things worth checking.

How Availability Indicators Work

FieldHive calculates availability using:

  • Your working hours

  • Existing bookings

  • Remaining available time within the day

The indicators display:

  • 🟢 Green — The entire day is available

  • 🟠 Orange — Existing bookings are present, but at least one additional 30-minute slot remains available during working hours

  • 🔴 Red — No additional 30-minute bookings can be scheduled during working hours

Check Your Working Hours

Availability indicators rely on the working hours configured within your account.

To review your working hours:

Settings → Your Profile

Ensure your working days and working hours accurately reflect when work can be scheduled.

Check Existing Bookings

Availability indicators take existing bookings into account.

Review the bookings for the affected day and confirm they reflect your actual schedule.

A day with multiple bookings may still show as orange if there is enough time remaining for at least one additional 30-minute booking.

Check Booking Times

Incorrect start or finish times can affect availability calculations.

Review your bookings and ensure they have been entered correctly.

Remember That Overbooking Is Possible

Availability indicators are designed to help you understand your workload at a glance.

They do not prevent bookings from being created.

If required, additional bookings can still be added even when availability is limited.

Refresh the Schedule

If you have recently changed working hours or updated bookings, refresh the schedule and review the indicators again.

Changes may take a moment to update throughout the app.

Still Need Help?

If availability indicators still do not appear as expected, please contact FieldHive Support and provide:

  • The affected date

  • Your working hours

  • Details of any bookings on that day

This will help the support team investigate the issue more quickly.
