Understanding Quote Statuses
Quote statuses help you track where each quote is within your sales process.
As a quote progresses from creation to customer decision, its status can be updated to reflect its current stage.
Using statuses consistently makes it easier to understand which opportunities are still active and which have already been resolved.
Draft
Draft quotes are still being prepared.
These quotes have not yet been sent to the customer and may still require changes to pricing, descriptions or items before they are ready for review.
Sent
Sent quotes have been delivered to the customer for consideration.
The customer has received the quote, but a decision has not yet been recorded.
This status helps identify quotes that may require follow-up or reminders.
Accepted
Accepted quotes have been approved by the customer.
Once accepted, the quote can be used as the basis for future bookings and invoices, helping keep the workflow connected.
Lost
Lost quotes are opportunities that did not proceed.
Marking quotes as lost helps keep reporting accurate and prevents inactive quotes from remaining in active lists.
Archived
Archived quotes are no longer actively being worked on but remain available for future reference.
This helps keep quote lists organised while preserving historical information.
Why Quote Statuses Matter
Quote statuses provide a clear view of your pipeline and help you understand the progress of customer opportunities.
They can help you:
Identify quotes awaiting a decision
Track accepted work
Review lost opportunities
Keep quote lists organised
Understand your overall quoting activity
Keeping Quotes Organised
Updating quote statuses regularly makes it easier to manage your workload and understand which quotes require attention.
A well-maintained quote pipeline provides a clearer picture of upcoming work and customer activity.
